Like many of you, I wasn’t always fat. But, as with many of us, life got in the way. Maybe like you, I got lazy and self-indulgent. Did you stop exercising regularly and started eating more junk food as I did? Can you relate to the fact that without realizing it, the weight crept up on you like it did on me? If you look at me now, you’d never suspect I was fat. But I was. I was embarrassed and disappointed in myself.
Have tried and tried to stop eating or stay on a diet. Are frustrated trying diet, after diet, after diet, only to fail over and over? Maybe like me, you can’t believe your pants size ballooned up.
But then, I was blindsided and everything changed.
In July of 2016 my doctor told me, based on my lab results, I had a 95% chance of having a heart attack. He said I had a choice: Either lose weight or find a new doctor because he didn’t want me dying on his watch.
That's when I decided to shed the unwanted and unhealthy pounds. During the next four months I lost 50 pounds, more than 25% of my total weight. Now, I feel great and have more energy. I don’t need to take a nap in the afternoon. So, I believe it’s my ethical duty and obligation to help others achieve their healthy weight so they don’t suffer like I use too or be at risk.
